DRex New Music – An Atlanta Hip

Hop Artist

DRex: Rapper Keeping it Real

When DRex released his first album (“Hustler/Rapper”) on Datpiff.com in Fall 2011, it taught him the power of connections and networking even without the marketing tools he needed. Even today the “Hustler/Rapper” album has a guaranteed hot tracklist for music heads who know the power of DRex, telling the truth with tracks like “My Life”“Faghettaaboutit”“Trappin” (with Gorilla Zoe), and others:

  • Intro (The Promise Land)
  • My Hood
  • Come Home feat. Danita
  • Do Your Thang
  • Tipping feat. Diamond
  • Drink the Pain Away
  • Ain’t No Show feat. Isaiah
  • What’s Life feat. Hell Rell
  • You Don’t Know feat. Danielle

But for DRex, music was never far away. It wouldn’t be long before he was campaigning for a DRex new single, “Where You From” now available on iTunes and YouTube, and telling his truth to more and more fans online and in local clubs.

Saluting DRex

Background Rap

DRex and his Raw Ent street team set out to hit the streets grinding his newest mixtape entitled “The Streets is Watching”, hosted by DJ Bigga Rankin, one of the hottest DJs down south. This mixtape is also on Datpiff.com, and features tracks from Hell Rell and Gorilla Zoe.

Successful rappers need the right street cred, and DRex worked that in with other established artists:

  • Hell Rell (Dipset) – (formerly with “The Diplomats”; first solo rap album: “For the Hell of It”)
  • Diamond (Crime Mobb) – (BET award for best female Hip-Hop artist)
  • Gorilla Zoe – (former member of Boyz N Da Hood; solo album “Welcome to the Zoo”2007)
  • Papoose – (broke in with single “Alphabetical Slaughter”; lucrative deal with Jive Records)

Along with his work with fellow rappers, DRex has mixed with producers Wil C – Streetheat CeoSy Fire, and Melody Child, and his work is gaining more traction with WorldstarHiphop.comYouTube, and many other sites.

Lil Boosie Released From Prison

Baton Rouge MC was sentenced to eight years in prison in late 2011.

After serving four years of an eight-year prison sentence for a drug conviction and probation violation, Lil Boosie is finally going home.

The rapper born Torrence Hatch was released from the Louisiana’s Angola State Penitentiary Wednesday night (March 5) at 7:10 p.m., Warden Burl Cain told WAFB.

The Baton Rouge native was then transferred to a sheriff’s department facility in St. Francisville, where he was welcomed home by family members.

Boosie has been incarcerated since June 2010, when he was brought up on first-degree murder charges stemming from the October 2009 shooting death of rap artist Terry Boyd. Boosie was accused of paying then 19-year old Michael “Marlo Mike” Louding to kill the 35-year old man, but was found not guilty in May of 2011 after a week of testimony and jury deliberation.

In November of 2011, months after being found not guilty in the murder trial, Boosie pleaded guilty to three counts of conspiring to smuggle drugs, which resulted in his eight-year sentence.

The Bad Azz spitter’s release comes before the Louisiana Department of Corrections officially scheduled date of May 20, 2014.

Boosie’s record label, Atlantic Records, has organized a press conference for the “Independent” MC Monday, March 10 at 1 p.m. at the W Hotel in New Orleans.

“He will absolutely be there,” an Atlantic Records representative said. “He’ll be speaking to the press for the first time, after his release.”

The invitation, which was sent to multiple news outlets, reads: “Trill Entertainment and Atlantic Records invites you to hear #BoosieSpeak.”

“I’ve coped by knowing in my heart that I’m someone special who many people love. If you lose hope in yourself, you’ll make your time hard. I always felt that my mission wasn’t complete. I feel I haven’t reached the star power that was destined for me,” Boosie wrote in a letter to Spin last year. “That makes me keep writing and thinking of ways to better myself as a man and artist. When it feels like the world is on my shoulders, I look at my pictures from when I was free and it gives hope and determination to pushing.”

Lil Boosie, who earned his GED while in prison, will remain on parole until 2018.

We wish Lil Boosie and his family nothing but the best. Change is a step ladder to greatness.

Information Provided by: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Martin-Luther-King-Jr-National-Memorial/10857589166217

Hello Ohio! Charleesmiles coming at ya with some wonderful historic news… If you have an interest in showing you family some important historical events you may want to head East instead of South. Yes, bypass/or add Georgia and head straight to Washington, D.C.

kCane MarkCO made this great find on his recent (May 23& 24, 2013) visit to Washington, D.C. on The Anti-Bullying Bully Bashers Tour.

kCane Invades D.C.

See where Dr. Martin Luther King  Jr. gave his famous, “I Have a Dream”, speech. I was blessed enough on many occasions to not only see the bridge that Dr. King and many others (including my great-grandmother) marched across in Selma, Alabama. But, I got to walk across it with my grandmother and family members.  I got to hold this necklace with a picture of  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on one side and President John F. Kennedy on the other. Pieces of my family history of such an important time in American history.

OVER THE BRIDGE
Somewhere in this march is my great-grandmother

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial is located in West Potomac Park in Washington, D.C., southwest of the National Mall (but within the larger area commonly referred to as the “National Mall”). The national memorial is America’s 395th unit in the national park service. The monumental memorial is located at the northwest corner of the Tidal Basin near the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, on a sight line linking theLincoln Memorial to the northwest and the Jefferson Memorial to the southeast. The official address of the monument, 1964 Independence Avenue, S.W., commemorates the year that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 became law.

Covering four acres, the memorial opened to the public on August 22, 2011, after more than two decades of planning, fund-raising and construction. A ceremony dedicating the Memorial was scheduled for Sunday, August 28, 2011, the 48th anniversary of the “I Have a Dream” speech that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.delivered from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in 1963 but was postponed until October 16 (the 16th anniversary of the 1995 Million Man March on the National Mall) due to Hurricane Irene.

Although this is not the first memorial to an African-American in Washington, D.C., Dr. King is the first African-American honored with a memorial on or near the National Mall and only the fourth non-President to be memorialized in such a way. The King Memorial is administered by the National Park Service (NPS).

HOW CAN YOU SAY WHERE YOUR GOING IF YOU CAN’T RESPECT WHERE YOU CAME FROM?

Martin Luther King, Jr. (January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968) was an American clergyman, activist, and prominent leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement. He is an iconic figure in the advancement of civil rights in the United States and around the world, using nonviolent inspired by Mahatma Gandhi. Although during his life he was monitored by the FBI for presumed communist sympathies, King is now presented as a heroic leader in the history of modern American liberalism.

Delivering the “I Have a Dream” speech at the 1963 Washington D.C. Civil Rights March.

At the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, King imagined an end to racial inequality in his “I Have a Dream” speech. This speech has been canonized as one of the greatest pieces of American oratory. In 1964, King became the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for his work to end racial segregationand racial discrimination through civil disobedience and other nonviolent means.

By the time of his death, he had refocused his efforts on ending poverty and stopping the Vietnam War. In 1968, he was backing the Memphis Sanitation Strike and organizing a mass occupation of Washington, D.C., called the Poor People’s Campaign.King’s assassination inMemphis on April 4, 1968 disrupted the Campaign and led to unrest in cities across the US. King was posthumously awarded thePresidential Medal of Freedom in 1977 and Congressional Gold Medalin 2004; Martin Luther King, Jr. Day was established as a U.S. federal holiday in 1986, and was first observed in all states in 2000.

These 2 pictures below are of the same person yet they hold a difference because you can see the physical and mental growth. Hence, the birth of the MIDWEST JUGG A NAUT!

Story By: Charleesmiles

BORN & RAISED IN THE LOU (St.Louis) all sides. kCAne MarkCO began spitten rhymes in cyphers on corners and at parks in his hood, eventually making his way to the Crooked I (Indiana) through the Chi. kCAne MarkCO has family all over the Mid WEST! SO THAT’S WHAT he REPS. THE ENTIRE MID WEST!

ITS HARD TO SAY WHO HE SOUNDS LIKE BECAUSE HE SOUNDS LIKE HIMSELF. WHEN HE RAPS ITS JUST HIM HAVING A CONVERSATION, THAT JUST HAPPENS TO RHYME. IT WOULD SEEM THAT HE DOES THIS BECAUSE HE LOVES IT. NO BETTER REASON THAN THAT!! WORLD MEET kCAne MarkCO the Mid West Jugg a naut!

Well, I needed to dig a little bit deeper than what I was reading in this bio above. See, Charleesmiles has got the chance to see this Jugg a Naut up close and personal. He brazen but he doesn’t lack brains, nor a heart or soul!

I asked kCane MarkCO seven questions just so folks could see this Entertainer  has something and that makes you dig deeper than what the surface shows you… So here I go…

559296_10200793109810561_640597999_n

Charleesmiles: How did you come up with the performance name KCane MarkCO?
kCane MarkCO:  it’s actually spelled kCAne MarkCO
and because when you mix a comic book nerd with a champion strongman/mixed martial artist/poet…you get the Artistic embodiment of Cain Marko…Marval’s the Juggurnaut…I cannot reveal the trade mark spelling just yet tho lol. But I can say I’m the man for the name as I’m on record for deadlifting 550lbs 17x in 45 seconds! Jugg-a-knot Bytch!
Charleesmiles: Why this name instead of something closer to you government name?
kCane MarkCO: My Gov name is too common, and as i am a stand out personality, I needed a stand out name that my ACTIONS could back up. ( See answer 1)
Charleesmiles: Why the unique spelling?
kCane MarkCO:  I’m not the artist to answer why…I’m the ENTERTAINER to say WHY NOT. Lol.

Charleesmiles: When did you begin rapping?
kCane MarkCO:Came out the Womb, said ga ga goo, open up my eyes they’re stuck like glue…basically as far back as i can naturally remember. Double negative time…I’ve never not been rappin.

Charleesmiles: How many young men have you helped stay away from the streets by giving them music as an outlet?

kCane MarkCO:  Too many to Number. and counting. And with much more than the use of music. Education with a goal. A mission of uplifting their community. Setting an example for the next generation still to come. Accountability! That is what i give the youth i come in contact with.

Charleesmiles: What would you like people to remember MOST about you?
kCane MarkCO:  That I was a man who NEVER stopped TRYING, DOING, and last but not least BELIEVING!!
Charleesmiles: What would you do differently if you could take the knowledge you have now and have a “DO OVER” type situation?
kCane MarkCO: I coined the phrase “REAL RAP FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE MAP.” Because I lived MOST of what trap rappers rap about. and EVERY word of what I rap, but the sadness of it all is this…the streets. If I could say that I really did not come from the streets. If I had stayed away from that life when MC LYTE said yo kid you got something there I would have pushed this harder. When Treach said here’s my number kid lets work! I would have called. When Gorilla Zoe and Big Reggie said “why aint you doing THIS for a living ” I woulda had a better answer than ” I have heard that before, no clue.”  If I could do it all over I would have just stayed out the streets I mean the real street where we getting shot everyday. Put my nose in the books way earlier and went after my dreams with both barrels blazing!
